Sustainability

2007 marked the beginning of Airdrie’s process to develop a Sustainability Plan. Developing a plan is a long-term process and the City looks forward to continuing to work closely with the community on this journey toward sustainability. Community visioning was the first step of the process, designed to gather information about how people envision the Airdrie of the future. Residents provided valuable feedback to help develop the community’s vision. The Sustainability Plan will evolve from this vision:

Airdrie is a vibrant, caring community rich in urban amenities and opportunities for everyone.

We value a healthy, sustainable environment connecting people and places.

The enVision Airdrie logo has been designed to represent the community's sustainability initiative. The five bars on the top of the icon represent the five pillars of sustainability: social, economic, environmental, cultural and governance.
