Patrons are requested to allow enough time to be unloaded before posted closing time.

Transfer Site Residential Rates
$20 for a level 1/2 ton truckload (overload charged extra)

Please sort all loads into the groups indicated above prior to arrival at the site. All loads must be properly secured and tarped. Loads that are left uncovered are subject to large fines.

Construction and Demolition Material

Sorted construction and demolition waste can be taken to the Resource Recovery Depot at the Transfer Site. Construction and demolition loads must be separated into groups (see previous page, Accepted) prior to arrival at the site. Separated construction and demolition materials accepted include:

Asphalt Old asphalt from road repair and removal that is free from topsoil and no larger than 3ft by 3ft sections.

Crushed aggregate used in building new roads
Concrete Concrete pieces free from topsoil and no larger than 30 inch by 30 inch

Small aggregate can be used as sub-based gravel that is laid down as the bottom layer of a road. If concrete is free of contaminants, it can also be used as the dry aggregate for new concrete

Kiln Dried Wood

Includes pallets, construction lumber, plywood and laminated veneer lumber with no metal larger than nails.

Chipped for use as feedstock for roofing material, landscaping chips and compost.

Shrub and Brush

Trees and stumps from site clearing.

Chipped for mulch.

Drywall/Gypsum

Free of wood, plastic and insulation. Nails are acceptable.

Made into an agricultural soil amendment.

Asphalt Shingles

Free of tar paper, shingle packaging paper, plastic, wood pieces, tar pails and used tools or brushes. Nails are acceptable.

Ground and recycled into a hot mix asphalt process.

Alberta Waste and Recycling is a local company contracted by the City of Airdrie for a pilot project of operating the Transfer Site. The Transfer Site is a multi-material recovery facility designed to handle both residential and construction waste materials.
