APPEALS
Detailed plans for new buildings in the City (not typically for new houses) require Development Permits, which are approved subject to several conditions, by the Planning Department. If the conditions of an approval are too onerous, or if any other person in the City is concerned with details of an approval, a process for an appeal is available. To facilitate this process, such approvals are advertised in the City Connection page of the Airdrie City View. This announcement is called a Notice of Development, and it contains a basic description of what was approved, where it is and the deadline for persons to file a Development Appeal. Anyone who feels he or she may be affected by an advertised approval needs to contact the City's Planning Department at (403) 948-8848 for additional details.

If a DEVELOPMENT APPEAL is filed within the required time, a SUBDIVISION AND DEVELOPMENT APPEAL BOARD HEARING is scheduled, and concerned persons are invited to attend this hearing and state their concerns or objections.  The BOARD may allow the development to proceed, with or without additional conditions, or may refuse a development completely.  The decision of this BOARD is not subject to further appeal, except for limited reason through the courts.

There are no Appeals at this time.
