In preparation for the next steps of growth planning, City of Airdrie staff has begun research of the proposed growth area including an Ecological Inventory. A report on this Ecological Inventory, prepared by working closely with O2 Planning & Design Inc. (O2), was presented to Council on March 1.

2009 CITIZEN SATISFACTION SURVEY RESULTS

Residents rank City services with solid scores

Residents gave Airdrie a high-ranking 98 percent rating for quality of life in the annual Citizen Satisfaction Survey, the highest score in a group of ¬17 other municipalities surveyed by Banister Research. The overall Citizen Satisfaction Index rose slightly and is the second-highest index rating the City has achieved at 3.83 out of a possible 5.0.

At their regular meeting on March 1, 2010, Airdrie City Council was presented with an update on the Comprehensive Growth Strategy. The update includes a new proposed annexation boundary supported by the Intermunicipal Committee (City of Airdrie and Rocky View County).

The City of Airdrie saw $201 million in construction value in 2009 compared to $184 million in 2008. Permit levels increased the second half of 2009, from the same period in 2008 with the busiest month being November 2009.
