Your dog, for life. May is Amnesty Month. No fines, just licences.

Buy a licence in May and we will waive any associated outstanding penalties. If your dog gets lost, a City of Airdrie licence will help reunite you with your pet. Responsible pet ownership just makes good sense.

  • Does your dog bark at visitors?
  • Does your dog bark when you are not at home?
  • Is the noise annoying your neighbours and your family?

Nuisance barking can be a major annoyance for your family and your neighbours, here are some suggestions:

  1. Put your pet in a private area of your yard - away from distracting neighbourhood noises.
  2. Enroll your dog in obedience classes. Instructors can help you to prevent problem barking.
  3. Purchase/rent bark deterrent devices through a pet store or veterinarian.
  4. Speak with your veterinarian about other options.

Dog Barking Complaints

Part one: Make a complaint using the Dog Barking Package from Municipal Enforcement.
Part two:  Municipal Enforcement will send a ticket to the dog owner with information about future penalties that may be issued if immediate action is not taken to prevent further disturbances.
