Airdrie, it’s time to celebrate! Time to celebrate our past, present and our future: our growth, our achievements and most importantly, our 100 years as a community.

Message from the Mayor

Our past is an interesting one, full of noteworthy events and achievements. From the aboriginals who traveled across the land to the railway being built in the area and the pioneers who settled and farmed here. These people and events have left us with a distinct spirit of community.

Airdrie is experiencing immense growth and success. In 1909, Airdrie was declared a village. Today, Airdrie is a bustling City with all the amenities, yet we still maintain the sense of community established in our past.

Our future as a City and as a community is bright. As we approach September 10, 2009, Airdrie’s 100th birthday, we can envision another 100 years of community, achievements and success.

Airdrie, please join me in celebrating our city’s 100th birthday!

~Mayor Linda Bruce
