It's Here! Airdrie Centennial Arrives
Despite the cold weather, Centennial kick-off on December 31, 2008, at the festival of lights was a huge success. Hundreds of families crowded the tent to stay warm. People were dancing and happily accepting the "swag" as Ron Simon called it, from the Centennial committee who were enthusiastically handing out Centennial glow buttons/book marks and wooden nickels!

The freezing cold weather was to our advantage as people only left the tent for the fireworks.
Mayor Bruce and Councilor Glenda Alexander did an extraordinary presentation of announcing the Centennial song contest winner Ron Simon with his winning entry  "Home to Me", which will soon be available for a free download on the Centennial website. Congratulations Ron!

The song went over well reminding everyone of the past 100 years in Airdrie. It wasn’t long before Ron had the crowd singing along and tapping there feet.

To listen to the song, visit, www.airdrie.ca/centennial.
