Theatre Rental

The Bert Church Live Theatre is truly a multi-purpose facility, suitable for a wide variety of activities. Our renters include, but are not limited to:

  • Schools
  • Businesses
  • Community groups
  • Political and Religious Organizations
  • Dance Companies

The theatre is regularly used for drama productions, music concerts, dance competitions and recitals, seminars, lectures and many other public and private functions. You can trust The Bert Church Theatre to successfully stage your event at a very affordable cost.

Our standard rental fees include the following:

  • A comfortable and intimate 385 seat auditorium
  • Professional sound and lighting capabilities
  • Private, secure dressing rooms with washroom and shower facilities
  • Use of theatre lobby and concession area
  • Large in house screen suitable for film, video, and PowerPoint presentations
  • Front of House Management

For a nominal fee, the theatre will also provide upon request:

  • Piano
  • Tables and Chairs
  • Additional Front of House and/or Technical Support Staff
  • Specialized Equipment

Theatre Capacity - 385 seats

BASIC RENTAL

  • No Admission Charged or Collected (i.e. Rehearsal, Meeting, Forum, etc.)
  • Full Day (up to 8 hours) $500
    Per hour rate after 8 hours $50 / hr

PERFORMANCE RENTAL

  • Admission Charged or Collected
  • Half Day (up to 4 hours) $500
    Full Day (up to 8 hours) $700
    Per hour rate after 4 or 8 hours $50 / hr

TECHNICAL / SUPERVISORY STAFF

  • 4 hour minimum @ $25 / hour,
  • After 8 hours @ $37.50 / hour (minimum requirement of one technician / supervisor)

INSURANCE

  • Proof of liability insurance required (minimum $2,000,000)

SOCAN FEES

  • Collected @ cost plus 15 per cent paid to SOCAN on your behalf (minimum $35)

LOBBY SALES COMMISSION

  • 10% of gross sales payable to The Bert Church Theatre

GST

  • 5% added to total

BOX OFFICE

  • Available @ $20 / hour (you may provide your own @ no charge)

FRONT OF HOUSE

  • Available @ $20 / hour (you may provide your own @ no charge)

TICKET PRINTING

  • Available through TicketMaster @ cost plus 15 per cent (you may provide your own @ no charge)

PIANO

  • Available @ rental cost plus 15 per cent (In-house upright available @ piano tuning cost)

ADVERTISING / PROMOTION

  • Available @ cost plus 15 per cent
