Waste Collection

  • Residential garbage collection is once per week
  • Households are limited to two (75-110 litre) per week
  • Any additional units require a $2, over-the-limit garbage sticker. Garbage stickers are available at the following locations: City Hall (400 Main Street), Recycling Depot (15 East Lake Hill), Recreation & Wellness Centre (800 East Lake Blvd), Airdrie Public Library (304 Main Street) and the Parks & Public Works Building (15 East Lake Hill).
  • All refuse must be placed out for pickup by 7 am in an animal proof container.
  • No garbage service is provided for non-residential customers, companies are responsible for making their own arrangements

Airdrie does not have recycling pickup at your house. The following items are accepted: newspaper, white office paper, coloured paper, cardboard, boxboard, household and scrap metal, plastic milk jugs, food grade glass, used clothing, used oil/antifreeze, and related containers used oil filters, propane tanks, aerosol cans, phone books and automobile batteries.

Mail
In Airdrie, mail is delivered to your community mailbox. You will need to visit the Post Office at 132 - 1 Street North, 948-5443, to pick up your key.
To mail a letter, you will notice a small mail slot in your community mailbox. Hours of operation: Monday to Friday 8:45 am to 5:15 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. There are additional post office outlets.
